The Spartans Weekend ahead

Posted on Friday, December 13th, 2024

Despite our Under 20s not featuring in the Lowland Development fixture list this weekend, Les Atkinson’s side won’t be idle as they welcome Jeanfield Swifts to Ainslie Park on Friday night in a friendly which will be played on the Community Pitch at 8.15pm.

With a League Cup Semi Final against Bonnyrigg a week away, the match will ensure the lads are kept match fit against a useful Swifts side who currently sit fourth in the Central League table, only two points off top with a game in hand.

Saturday sees Douglas Samuel’s SPFL 2 look to bounce back at the first attempt following a disappointing midweek loss to Stranraer when they entertain Clyde at Ainslie Park (3.00pm KO).

With conditions set to be less arctic than Tuesday night, the lads will be keen to go one better than the share of the spoils when the sides last met, when Mark Stowe netted his first goal for the Club in a 1-1 draw at New Douglas Park.

Tickets can be purchased in advance via Fanbase https://app.fanbaseclub.com/Fan/Tickets/SelectType?fixtureId=6063 or you can pay at the gate.

An Edinburgh derby brings the curtain down on a busy weekend at Ainslie Park on Sunday with an SWPL 1 lunchtime clash against Hearts.

After a Player of the Match award for her performance in midweek in the 1-1 draw on the road against Partick Thistle, Alicia Yates will be looking to put in another top shift between the sticks in this 1pm KO.

Tickets can be purchased in advance via Fanbase https://app.fanbaseclub.com/Fan/Tickets/SelectType?fixtureId=8870 or you can pay at the gate.

This weekend sees a double header Match Programme featuring news from both our Men and Women’s camps.  Buy your copy at the game, priced just £3.

This year our colleagues at The Spartans Community Foundation are collecting children’s winter coats & jackets for our community partners. Fans attending the game who are able to support the appeal can hand their donation in at the turnstiles.
